Come Help Us Grow!

Come to Amherst and experience the quaint, small town feeling of a charming community with a distinctive business district, unique architecture, and a historic downtown that characterizes nineteenth century America.

Main Street Amherst has been designed to promote all aspects of the downtown business district by improving economic management, strengthening public participation, recruiting new businesses, rehabilitating buildings, and making downtown a fun place to visit.

Volunteers are always needed to help reach our goals! No amount of time or energy is too small. There are many different ways for you or business to be involved. Check out the Community Calendar for various committee meetings and events to learn more.

What's Happening

M.S.A. has created a day filled with great music, good food and fun with the back drop of historic downtown Amherst that is free for all to enjoy. There will be several different Kid's Fun Zones during the day, along with a balloon and magic guy near the stage while children's music and games will be played from the main stage beginning at 3 pm and ending at 5 pm. Bring your family down and enjoy all the fun activities. "Dann Swift & Friends" will take the stage at 6 pm to 8:30 pm followed by our ALL NEW HEADLINER "Jason Denney and the Hard Drive Band" which will begin playing at 9 pm. Join us on Saturday, August 6th in downtown Amherst to see for yourself what M.S.A. is doing for our community and you too will be Dancing on Main Street. We are proud to be a part of revitalizing and promoting Amherst.
