Come Help Us Grow!

Come to Amherst and experience the quaint, small town feeling of a charming community with a distinctive business district, unique architecture, and a historic downtown that characterizes nineteenth century America.

Main Street Amherst has been designed to promote all aspects of the downtown business district by improving economic management, strengthening public participation, recruiting new businesses, rehabilitating buildings, and making downtown a fun place to visit.

Volunteers are always needed to help reach our goals! No amount of time or energy is too small. There are many different ways for you or business to be involved. Check out the Community Calendar for various committee meetings and events to learn more.

What's Happening

The Explorer's Club is one of the newest events for kids (and adults) of any age and an opportunity to get outside and explore all that our community has to offer. Each Explorer receives a passport book and activity list. As the Explorer completes each activity, they will visit an Explorer Station to receive a stamp into their passport book. Explorer's will complete as many activities as they can from June to the second Wednesday in September. The goal is to have fun and learn about Amherst!

Passport books may be purchased at Main Street Amherst, Monday through Friday 10 AM to 2 PM and Olde Town Pizza, Monday through Friday 9 AM to 11 AM and 2 PM to 4 PM. For more information, please call M.S.A. at (440) 984-6709.

Looking for something to do on the second Wednesday in July, August and September between 6 PM and 8 PM? Why not come downtown Amherst, have some dinner at one of the many different restaurants, shop in the boutiques, then walk around and enjoy all the different types of entertainment outside.
