With the holidays fast approaching now is the perfect time to shop local!  Not only will you be helping the local economy, but you will also find unique and personable items that are hard to find on the shelves of big box stores. 

 

Independent shops return more than 3x as much money per dollar of sales to the local community than national chains and independent restaurants return more than 2x as much money per dollar of sales than national restaurant chains.

Our next regularly scheduled General Membership Meeting will be on Thursday, December 4 at 9:00am at the MSA Community Center.  You do not need to be a member to attend; just come and meet fellow business owners.  Minutes from the November meeting are now available for download.

Lolly the Trolley

 

Lolly the Trolley's annual trip around Amherst will be held on December 17.  Tickets are now on sale and are $5 per person.  To purchase tickets, please call Teresa or Carmen at (440) 984-6709.  Ride times:  6:00 (sold out), 6:45, 7:30 and 8:15pm.

 

New Board Member

 

Erin Link, Etc.The Board of Main Street Amherst is pleased to welcome our newly appointed Board Member, Erin Link.  Erin is the owner of Etc. located on Park Avenue.  Erin's creativity and enthusasm is contagious!  She will bring many wonderful ideas and lots of energy to Main Street Amherst and the Board.

 

Many thanks to Alicia Nicely for her years of service and creative spirit.  Alicia was instramental in developing the MSA logo and website, and has taken our marketing materials to a new level. While she will be greatly missed on the Board, we will continue to see Alicia at Main Street Amherst meetings and events.
