1969—It was the year of Neil Armstrong and Woodstock. It was also the year that Joan and Ed Conrad founded a family business with one store and eight employees. Over the past decades, Conrad’s has expanded to more than 34 Northeast Ohio locations, with their newest being right here in Amherst.
For your convenience, their Amherst location is open six days a week performing all phases of automotive maintenance and repair, from changing tires to changing engines.
A lot has changed since 1969. Life is a lot more complex in a lot of ways. One thing has remained constant: their commitment to provide you with the right tires and service, at the right price, right now.
Come to Amherst and experience the quaint, small town feeling of a charming community with a distinctive business district, unique architecture, and a historic downtown that characterizes nineteenth century America.
Main Street Amherst has been designed to promote all aspects of the downtown business district by improving economic management, strengthening public participation, recruiting new businesses, rehabilitating buildings, and making downtown a fun place to visit.
Volunteers are always needed to help reach our goals! No amount of time or energy is too small. There are many different ways for you or business to be involved. Check out the Community Calendar for various committee meetings and events to learn more.
