Come to Amherst and experience the quaint, small town feeling of a charming community with a distinctive business district, unique architecture, and a historic downtown that characterizes nineteenth century America.

Main Street Amherst has been designed to promote all aspects of the downtown business district by improving economic management, strengthening public participation, recruiting new businesses, rehabilitating buildings, and making downtown a fun place to visit.

Volunteers are always needed to help reach our goals! No amount of time or energy is too small. There are many different ways for you or business to be involved. Check out the Community Calendar for various committee meetings and events to learn more.

What's Happening


Each Day in November, one lucky ticket will be drawn and win the prize(s) shown on the calendar below for the day. Each day contains prizes valued at $50 or more! Your $5.00 (per ticket) donation will benefit MAIN STREET AMHERST to promote Amherst by improving economic management, strengthening public participation, recruiting new businesses, rehabilitating buildings, & making our town a fun place to visit.

*All winners will be notified by phone. You will be reuqired to pick up your prize at the business that donated it. Each prize will only be held 10 days after notification for pick up.
