Watercolor Pencils and More - Art Workshop

Join us on Monday, March 13 at 12:30pm for the first monthly Watercolor Pencils and More Art Workshops with artist and instructor Mary Jo Clark. Enjoy learning new skills and techniques during this creative workshop where all skill levels are welcome. Absolutely no artistic experience is necessary! You do not have to have attended previous workshop sessions to attend this one.
Students will need a set of watercolor pencils, pink erasers, a #8 round Taklon brush, a natural sponge, a ½” foam brush, and an ultra-fine Sharpie or .02 Micron pen, and 140 lb. Watercolor paper.
The instructor has requested that attendees please wear a face mask during the class. If you do not have one, a disposable face mask can be provided upon arrival to the class.

Join the Amherst Public Library on Thursday, March 23 at 7pm for a retrospective of the music and career of Aretha Franklin with special guest Dr. Joel Keller. Aretha Franklin recorded a total of 112 charted singles on Billboard, including 77 Hot 100 entries, 17 top ten pop singles, 100 R&B entries and twenty number-one R&B singles, becoming the most charted female artist in the chart's history. This presentation will follow her career from 1967 through her performance at the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors concert and play selections of her music.

Introducing a program designed for children who may not be successful in a typical storytime program! Join the Amherst Public Library for a monthly Saturday Adapted Storytime at 10:15am. Join the Amherst Public Library on Friday, March 31 at 2pm for TAP TIME™ with special guest Melissa Renner of Active For Life Fitness! Designed for seniors and those with low mobility, TAP TIME™ is one of Active For Life's most popular brain and body 'dancercise' classes where Melissa invites you to come on a musical journey with her, where the young at heart come out to play. This unique class features gentle and fun seated tap dancing and exercise, using tap shoe covers that manually attach to the participant's shoes. This class is not only fun but fantastic for both brain and body. No dance experience necessary. A limited number of tap shoe covers will be provided for attendees on a first come, first serve basis, but are not required to participate in the class.
