Reading is Sweet at the Amherst Public Library this summer! Visit us during library open hours from Monday, June 5 through 5pm on Wednesday, July 19 to participate in Summer Reading 2023, featuring three delicious reading programs! Our youngest friends can join in the fun with our Kids Reading Club for ages birth through entering 5th grade, kids and teens entering 6th through 9th grade can earn points per page read in our Young Adult Reading Club, and teens in 10th grade and up can join in with the adults in our Adult Summer Reading program. All ages have the chance to win prizes and Grand Prize drawing entries!

Join the Amherst Public Library for monthly Watercolor Pencils and More Art Workshops with artist and instructor Mary Jo Clark. Enjoy learning new skills and techniques during this creative workshop where all skill levels are welcome. Absolutely no artistic experience is necessary! You do not have to have attended previous workshop sessions to attend this one.
Students will need a set of watercolor pencils, pink erasers, a #8 round Taklon brush, a natural sponge, a ½” foam brush, and an ultra-fine Sharpie or .02 Micron pen, and 140 lb. Watercolor paper.
The instructor has requested that attendees please wear a face mask during the class. If you do not have one, a disposable face mask can be provided upon arrival to the class.

Children with varying learning styles and abilities are invited to come together in a supported environment to participate in stories, songs, and activities where respect for differences is practiced and encouraged. The program will last 15-20 minutes, followed by social time. Content is designed for ages 3-7, but all ages are welcome! Parents and siblings are also welcome and encouraged to attend!
