Description

The Amherst Public Library is an independent library that has been proudly serving the greater Amherst community since 1906. Located at the corner of Spring Street and Park Avenue, we have something for every age and interest! We have a variety of materials available to patrons including books, audiobooks, movies, magazines, CDs, DVDs, video games, wi-fi hotspots, and so much more!

We offer many free and low-cost services to the community such as public computers with the full Microsoft Suite, on-site wireless internet, device tech help, notary, printing, scanning, and photocopying. The community is welcome to attend a variety of free programs and events for all ages; art and craft classes, early literacy and reading enrichment programs, storytimes, local history talks, health and wellness presentations, summer reading events, local and regional author signings, Main Street Amherst events, book discussion groups, and more!

An extensive expansion and renovation project concluding in summer 2022 will include a drive-up window and book drop on Spring Street, a 125 seat capacity Community Room, a reading terrace, an all-new children's area, first floor Reference services, bottle filling stations, and many new surprises!

Keep up with us on Facebook or Instagram, or visit our website to learn more about everything we have to offer the community!
