For more information, please contact Jackie Covert 1-440-463-8993 See more details • • •	8 The Forgotten Claus Family Cemetery- free presentation The Forgotten Claus Family Cemetery- free presentation July 8, 2025 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm "The Forgotten Claus Family Cemetery: The history and restoration of a local cemetery" is presented by Matt Nahorn Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 7 pm at The Amherst Historical Society Hall, 113 South Lake Street, Amherst, Ohio 44001 In the early years of the founding of local communities, small family cemeteries consolidated many of these burial plots. The Claus Family Cemetery in Brownhelm became a forgotten and neglected family cemetery. Having driven by two white marble gravestones on a hillside overlooking a small creek and the busy highway of State Route 6, Matt knew that a story was to be told. As a local historian, he is proud to have initiated the restoration project of the Claus Family Cemetery. He thanks Kate Rivet, and her Cemetery Restoration Services team of Jane and Ron Crandall for making this restoration possible. Please join us as he dives into the history of that cemetery and the restoration process! Free to attend, with light refreshments!
